the whys |

I find comfort within the alternative realities your mind can compose. Sometimes it can be a dangerous game, because you’re left pining after an existence that cannot be. However, the constructing of realms, the crafting of characters, the meticulous planning of lifespans, and the thwarting of society can be rewarding.

I believe you leave behind a part of you in everything you create. As a writer, you willingly make yourself vulnerable to having your hearts broken by fictional tropes, but also sell your soul to the judgement and interpretation of your audience. Yet the power always lies with you – the mysterious writer who refuses to reveal their source of inspiration.

What started out as a creative outlet for me, has quickly turned into a platform where I can sob about fictional characters that broke my heart, or debate about current issues that make my blood boil. It also turned into a place where I can partner up with talented creators to produce fun content.

I’ve also begun to delve into topics close to my heart – something I was scared to do previously, because ew, who likes being vulnerable am I right? Now there’s a broad range of content that touches upon mental health, exposes a bit more about who Kiya is as a person, but also dabbles into areas that aren’t necessarily my comfort zone, but someplace I’ve always wanted to explore.

So I hope now that my blog is more well rounded, and not restrained to the niche of creative writing, there’s something here for you to enjoy and leave your thoughts behind on. I look forward to meeting you!
