there is a fairytale

there is a fairytale

and it doesn’t feature me;

i’ve fallen victim to failure

where there’s no stargazing of ambition

and no believing of the self.

my mind is the thunder

and the storm

and the rain;

it forgets about the sunshine

and instead it remembers the hail.

a walking contradiction

a fullstop.

where’s the colon

with something to follow on?

instead she brings the salt

to a tea party of uninvited guests

and until she learns to uninvite

those unwanted guests

from her mind

she’ll sit there

sipping away

to the same old

same old

rustic

tune.
