shine the light

you tried shining the light on my flaws
in a manner 

all my imperfections were exposed 

and you left me to retreat to the shadows

that were cast on the

dull dull walls

but then I decided to flip the switch 

and learn to love my imperfections 

and instead shine the light 

on those things that try

to trap me in the corner 

with no light 

and no hope.
