Sunshine Blogger Award

I was nominated by the fabulous Anna to do the Sunshine Blogger Award. Thanks so much for that – you’re awesome! Her blog design is gorgeous!

These are the rules:

Answer the 11 questions set by the person who nominated you.
Check ;D

Nominate 11 bloggers to receive the award and write them 11 new questions to answer.
Check ;D

And without further ado, here are my answers to the questions asked by the wonderful Anna. Please do stop by her blog – I would recommend it a billion times over!

Ponytails or braids?

To be honest it depends on my mood. I prefer to keep my hair out ’cause minimal effort required aha. I put my hair up in a ponytail for sport and when I’m in the mood for it. I braid my hair when I sleep or when I’m bothered enough to spend some extra time (wait is plaiting and braiding the same thing?!)

What was the last song you listened to?

When you’re gone – Avril Lavigne

What’s your most used emoji?

Most likely the laughing face with tears pouring out of its eyes. Sometimes I even use it when the conversation hits a dead end – sort of like well this is awkward, I don’t know what to say next oops . . .

Rap or poetry?

Oooh now that’s a hard choice. I mean I love certain rappers (Eminem and Professor Green being top on that list) but I love writing poetry. I love reading emotional poems where I become invested in it. One of my favourite poems I discovered from my English gcse anthology is below. I just love the imagery in it and it speaks the truth.

Once Upon a Time
Once upon a time, son,
they used to laugh with their hearts
and laugh with their eyes:
but now they only laugh with their teeth,
while their ice-block-cold eyes
search behind my shadow.

There was a time indeed
they used to shake hands with their hearts:
but that’s gone, son.
Now they shake hands without hearts
while their left hands search
my empty pockets.

‘Feel at home!’ ‘Come again’:
they say, and when I come
again and feel
at home, once, twice,
there will be no thrice-
for then I find doors shut on me.

So I have learned many things, son.
I have learned to wear many faces
like dresses – homeface,
officeface, streetface, hostface,
cocktailface, with all their conforming smiles
like a fixed portrait smile.

And I have learned too
to laugh with only my teeth
and shake hands without my heart.
I have also learned to say,’Goodbye’,
when I mean ‘Good-riddance’:
to say ‘Glad to meet you’,
without being glad; and to say ‘It’s been
nice talking to you’, after being bored.

But believe me, son.
I want to be what I used to be
when I was like you. I want
to unlearn all these muting things.
Most of all, I want to relearn
how to laugh, for my laugh in the mirror
shows only my teeth like a snake’s bare fangs!

So show me, son,
how to laugh; show me how
I used to laugh and smile
once upon a time when I was like you.

Who was the last blogger you’ve talked to? (it can be a comment, tweet, message, call…)

The amazing Kate via email and I am so lucky to have stumbled onto her blog. Her blog is amazing just like her beautiful personality. And gosh her art skills!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

A kickass FBI putting the baddies in jail forever

*sighs* Realistically I want to work in the computing field (hopefully with cyber crime division at some point) and publish a few novels…

Find $ 1.000.000 or find true love?

Find the money. There is so many good things I can do with it and so many places I can donate it to. Although it’d have to be used in pounds for me to actually understand what I’m getting myself into. It wouldn’t be true love if you go searching for it…

What was your last funny moment?

*Thinks really hard*

Um when my Fairy Godbestmother (my bestie, love her so much) walked into a wall. To be fair I’ve walked into a wall when attempting to sit down on a bench so I can’t judge. And this was witnessed by another amazing bestie of mine *gives her a virtual wave*.

Star Wars, Harry Potter or Hunger Games?

I solemnly swear I’m up to no good ;D

What book are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Atonement by Ian McEwan.
Exams didn’t stop me going on book buying hauls so now I am enjoying myself being an enormous bookworm.

Sunglasses or caps?

Hahaha I wish I could rock sunglasses. I mean I struggle to just rock glasses. So I guess a cap although I never wear one in public or at home to be quite honest xD Who am I kidding – I can’t rock either.

These are my questions to my nominees:

1) What’s your favourite advert?
2) What’s your favourite underated or undiscovered music artist you’d like to recommend?
3) Where in the world would you not want to go and why?
4) What’s the last word you said?
5) If you could eat one chocolate for the rest of your life (healthy I know) what would it be?
6) Hockey, Rugby or Cricket?
7) Favourite number?
8) Would you rather meet a songwriter or a writer?
9) Favourite photograph you’ve taken recently (doesn’t have to be of people) and feel free to include it in your post!
10) Favourite female and male YouTuber
11) Your best trait and talent

And I nominate these following people:
1) Chloe Lauren
2) The Veaunic

Firstly, love that poem 💕 Does that poet have a published book? Secondly, I think you’re deliberately trying to melt me 😳 And lastly, I was laughing so hard with you choosing $1M and being practically realistic because I’d choose the same. Yay for fellow practical buddy! 🙌

Me too! The writer is a Nigerian poet and novelist. He has one book named Voice. He’s 95 and some of his poems concentrate on what happens when faced with Western Culture whilst coming from another culture. You should check out “You laughed and laughed and laughed.”

Eh Kate, if you’re melting, I guess I’ll have to ask Will Sollace to check you up :p

I try to be realistic though I do have a pretty wild imagination at times xD *high fives fellow practical buddy”
