Would you forget the maternal bond
And the protective cuddle of a father
Amidst the advice of a caring sibling
Decades past your twenty first?
How about the compassion in a friend
The warmth in a partner
Or the genuineness of a stranger –
Would you ever forget that?
Could you ever forget the support from a teacher
The laughter from a classroom banter
The sunshine in the soft sky
Or the hush in the breeze as nature enchants your heart?
Then why would you forget how you respect others
How you cherish and appreciate
And the way you smile and make someone’s day
Why would you ever forget your value
In this place we call planet Earth?
A little poem to remind you all that every one of us is special, and has an equal value in society and impacting other’s lives.
I’ll try not to forget. That poem made me think, about how I view myself and why. Thank you!
